Cool Living
A research project that focuses on Improving the Thermal Performance of NT Aboriginal Community Housing in the face of climate change.
The work creates both top-down and bottom-up toolkits for community groups and housing organisations alike to educate about ‘passive’ design solutions and inform targeted modifications for improved thermal comfort to community housing for hot periods. A ‘Bang for your Buck’ hierarchy establishes what modifications should be completed first, and what modifications should be completed last to have the best impact for passive cooling on a suite of typical community houses found across the NT. Back by research and data, the typical houses are simulated in NaTHERS accredited software.
This work has its own website with lots of info and downloadable guidebooks. This work is ongoing, please contact us for more information.
