Biography of a Build CH.11 /NOVEMBER 23, 2021

What a month! Recycled hardwood posts, knee braces, rafters, on-site milled ridge beams, steel connection plates, and a bloody roof with all the fire proofing junk!! WOW!!

We used flat steel under our ridge beams to give us a crispy edge down our hallway.

Josh Brown, unfazed by the rubbish weather and doing a cracking job installing our burnt site milled pine ridge beams and connection plates.

Michael was not as excited about the weather

Bobbie fixing off our recycled hardwood rafters to our hallway. These will be exposed down the length of the hall for some ceiling textural funk.

Plywood over the top of rafters begins to block out the glorious light but also the slightly annoying rain.

The roofing crew! Rick Newling, Jo Heathcote, Josh Newling, Bobbie, Chriss Bayley and Wayne! What a team! Thanks all!. We are sitting on the tongue and groove plywood that is part of the bushfire roof system. We used old concrete formwork (which would otherwise be waste) and did all the T&G ourselves too try and reduce waste going to landfill.

Final tweaking of sheets to get all important slivers of light where they matter most.

TAH DAH!!! a bloody roof! What a relief!
